these are my notes on how i was able to upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10 on my toshiba skullcandy pc that came with windows 7
REMOVE PROGRAMS
removed wild tangent
remove all WILDTANGENT games from
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features
C:\Program Files (x86)
C:\Users\toshiba\Favorites\Games
C:\Users\toshiba\AppData\Roaming
remove office
import keys: just double click on the key file from the USB backup drive
VIEW ALL FILES WITH DETAILS, THEN
FILE EXPLORER > VIEW OPTIONS > VIEW TAB
CLICK: Apply to Folders
[X] DISPLAY THE FULL PATH IN THE TITLE BAR
[ ] HIDE EXNTENSIONS FOR KNOWN FILE TYPES
CLICK OK
Right click and select: shows quick acccess below the ribbon
REMOVE TILES
uninstall BS tiles and or disable if you cannot uninstall
INSTALL NORTON
bigger travis / not normal
settings > firewall > Advanced Program control > Automatic Program Control > Off
run update
run quickscan
IMPORT APACHE FRIENDS
* not imported files: Google-Cloud.txt
IMPORT DESKTOP/APPS
> pin to taskbark: notpadd++, sublime
INSTALL FIREFOX
INSTALL CHROME
FILEZILLA
OPEN OFFICE
UPDATE AppData files: (export/import settings:)
C:\Users\toshiba\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
C:\Users\toshiba\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS5
C:\Users\toshiba\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
C:\Users\toshiba\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla
C:\Users\toshiba\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice
BLUETOOTH
Pair BOSE SOUNDLINK WIRELLESS SPEAKER
export/import key
msconfig
power settings do nothing whel lid is closed
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options
Power buttons and lid:
lid close action:
On battery: do nothing
Plugged in: Do nothing
move these folders from C: to F:
apachefriends
D
Windows.old
then delete the above folders in the C:
do a disk cleanup
save the system image
