hello sir, kindly help me resolve this problem i am having with my system.
i completed automatic updates of my computer and for some reason i get this error on my HP pavilion laptop, now i seem to be getting this error, i have never done updates before but then i read that its better to let the computer get updates frequently to keep my computer from harm, now i get this update and its not working properly.
i will provide you with more details of my problem, you see, first i got this error on my desktop:
this copy of windows is not genuine
you may be a victim of software counterfeiting. this copy of windows is not genuine and is eligble to receive the full range of upgrades and product suppor from microsoft.
Click Get Genuine now to get more information and resolve this issue
after some hours of working on my computer with windows xp, i get this message also:
the warning says: This copy of Windows is not genuine and you have not resolved the issue. This computer is no longer eligible to receive select security upgrades from Microsoft. To protect your computer, you must click Get Genuine now.
kindly explain what is wrong

yes, this happens after downloading the latest Windows updates, if your Windows license key does not validate against Microsoft's online database of license keys, you may be prompted with this five-second mandatory delay dialog at the login page. to properly fix this error message you will have to provide a valid cd key. you can find it in your package the came with the computer. if you have an HP pavilion computer, there should be some material where it contains. but most likely, the key is found in a sticker on your computer.
or if you had someone install your operating system on your computer, unfortunately, that person may have been using a pirate copy of windows. one option is to buy a CD KEY from Microsoft. i think that would be the fastest way to resolve it.
