im starting my HTML web pages and in the book it says i have to use lower case tags instead of capital letters. but when i try it on my browser it still works

so why does the book say we have to use lowercase instead of CAPS?

Why do We Use Lowercase Tags?

The latest HTML standard say we should be using lowercase. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) recommends lowercase tags in their HTML 4 recommendation, and XHTML (the next generation HTML) demands lowercase tags. Even though your browser is not case sensative, you should get used to using lowercase instead of uppercase
