during the start of the internet, the most popular resolution began with windows 98, the most common screen resolution was 800x600, with windows xp, it went up to 1024x768. now with new monitor technologies, 1280x800 is becoming the facto. which is what i am using right now on my laptop to write this turorial

one thing to keep in mind is that the bigger a screen a person has, the less likely he is to have his browser maximized.
