i forgot my root password how can i get it back

is there a way to reset your root or super user password in linux

yes, you can reset your root password

your server was installed with GRUB

so login to grub at the splash screen to enter single mode

once you are in single mode

enter the command:

passwd

enter the new password

reboot server then you will be able to loing with the new password
