i was getting this error because i connected a usb video adapter so i can have dual screen. it worked but the manufacturer had release a driver for windows seven which was not good. so once i removed the driver, i didnt have any issues. so you have two things to do.
1. is update your driver
2. remove any new software you have installed, specially if you have windows 7 because the driver may not be compatible with you windows 7 pc.
i would suggest you go visit the video manufacturer website to see if they have a new driver release and you should update it in you computer.
so in summary, you are getting this error because there is a software conflict in your computer. so you either must fix it by installing the correct driver, or remove the new video software

that comment is one of the most annoying wastes of space that i've ever come across in all my persistent search experience. in the time it took you to make that worthless post, you could 've just as easily provided the step-by-step solution that worked for you. what? do you think that people are not going to be having the same problem in the future? i don't mean to sound like a bastard-from-hell-operator, but, really! this is why people are going to have to resort to paying so-called professionals and, in turn, this defeats the purpose of what these forums are supposed to be about - helping provide answers to any machine glitch problems the members here are facing.
