OSI Layer Five - Session Layer

the session layer is responsible for the integrity of the logical connection of the software session. In other words, this layer ensures that next month's sales forecast data does not end up in your customer's database log.

by using this layer, two applications on t different computer can establish, use and end a connection called a session. this layer performs name recognition and by using other functions such as security functions two applications ca communicate other the network finally this layer provides synchronization between user tasks by placing checkpoint in the data stream

if you think about the car highway, the session layer is like the lanes on the freeway. the session layer is like the traffic police man or cop.
