netbeiud stands for NetBIOS extended user interface and is a high-speed protocol first introduced by IBM. some fackes about netbeui include;

used by small networks
good error protection
tuning parameters are availabel to match network and organizational reuirements
limited memory overhead requirements
both connectionless and connection-oriented traffic is supported
*** IT IS NOT A ROUTEABLE PROTOCOL ***
netbeui uses the server message blcok (SMB) protocol to allow for sharing of files
Cannot go to layer 3
is used for small windows networks

NetBIOS is commonly use as a protocl or used in placed of netbeui

netbios which means network basic input/output is an application interface operating at the session layer instead of a protocol
