One of the most important ways to customize and add security to your files, is to change your password. This post will show you how to change your password in the unix/linux shell:

1. login to your terminal (shell)

2. Enter this command:

     Code:
passwd

You will be asked to enter your old password, then your new password, and then re-enter you new password

very easy

login as root, so to change a user's password is easy. send this command:

passwd YourUserName

NOTE: YourUserName is whatever the user's login name is, then the system will prompt you to enter the new password
