JavaScript came about as a result of a joint effort between netscape communications corp. and Sun Microsystems. the news release of javascript came on Dec. 4 1995 when netscape navigator was still in its beta version. then javascript v 1.0 became available with the new netscape. before javascript was release, it was called LiveScript
