hi, i have a HP Proliant DL380 Server i bought in ebay and i am trying to configure the RAID on the server. but when i hit F8 to enter the raid configuration utility i get a message:

Administrative Password Security

ENTER PASSWORD
********************

how can i reset the password?

resetting the password it easy.

all you have to do is remove the CMOS battery from the mother board for about 10 seconds, this will reset the BIOS memory along with the configuration which holds that administrator password.

hello please help me too. I also have a Smart Array 5i controller in a DL380 and i need to reconfigure the array configuration. when powering up the server, i press F8 at the appropriate time to re-configure. then that blue screen pops up prompting for a "administrative password security" have tried HPINVENT and admin and last 6 digits of serial number backwards still can't get in. How can I reset this password?.
