i finally got a copy of windows 7 home premium but i have a windows xp computer. on the label it says i must have windows vista. do you kno whow i can upgrade my laptop from a windows xp to windows seven?

you can't upgrade from windows xp to windows seven, you can only upgrade from vista to seven.

but, if you have a vista upgrade cd, you can upgrade from xp to vista, then from vista to seven.

otherwise, if you have xp, you have to do a fresh install of seven
