im learning about linux and sending command through the shell

i am interested in learning in creating a a user account with superuser or root privileges. i dont want to have to login as root all the time to make changes, instead i want to give my username admin rights

how do you put root permissions to a user in linux.

by the way, i am using a fedora core linux computer.

for security reasons, we do not allow your configuration to create users with root access.

what you will need to do is login as your user,

once you are logged in, you will have to login as sudo.

its very easy, once you are in the shell, send this command:

SHELL COMMMAND:
su -


you will be prompted to enter the root password, which is basically the same password for your user. after that you will have root access
