i installed ubunto on my linux web server which uses apache and now i have forgetten my root password,
how can i get it back? or reset the default password?

i am logged into ubuntu single mode and it asks for maintenance password. why is ubuntu asking me for some maitnenace password?

try doing this the, if you have access to the server you can reset it useing grub
